Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters has completed the final stage in a refurbishment this month. The $6.25M project has seen 139 rooms renovated to align with Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards.
62% of the $6.25M in renovations were attributed to local builders, suppliers and artists. This investment will bring additional business tourism by attracting larger and more frequent conferences and exhibitions, while driving the local economy by positioning Alice Springs as a location with premium products and amenities for the tourism sector.
The renovations saw existing rooms modernized with refreshed tiles, carpet, furniture, cabinetry, fittings and artwork. Each bathroom has also been completely updated and now features modern décor, a spacious walk in shower and illuminated vanity mirrors.
The rooms are designed to reflect the breathtaking Central Australian landscape. Vibrant oranges and earthy tones come together to create a contemporary and comfortable space for travelers to unwind and experience the true heart of Australia.
The rooms also feature a mixture of aboriginal paintings and prints of local landscapes. The paintings were completed by a variety of local indigenous artists with a colour pallet that was selected to match the furnishings of the room. These paintings will join the renowned Lasseters Collection, now comprising of over 150 pieces of indigenous art designed for and placed in hotel rooms at the Crowne Plaza Alice Springs.
General Manager Stewart Manson believes the renovations will be a great way to attract more tourism “The new rooms look fresh and give homage to our brilliant and unique location. There really is no place quite like Central Australia. The completion of the renovations will deliver new and larger conferences to the region and this in turn will boost the local economy.”
An open day will be held on Saturday the 7 of April 2018 from 10am until 2pm at Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Lasseters, with the public welcome to view the new rooms.
